As you are aware the Charter Standard Annual Health Check (AHC) was rolled last year and proved a success in clubs maintaining the charter standard status. Nationally the number of clubs who saw their status lapsed was significantly reduced.
The Annual Health Check process was introduced by The FA to directly support Charter Standard Clubs in the following areas:
• Tracking the validity of your club voluntary workforce in relation to coach education and welfare
• Identifying your club workforce/coach education requirements for the season
The Health Check form presents information held on your club and the volunteers within the club together with asking questions about how the club adheres to the FA Charter Standard criteria.
The information gathered year on year allows us to build a greater picture of the volunteer structure at your club so we know what further support you need.
The FA’s official timescales for completion of the health check for clubs is as follows:
31st March 2012 before your charter standard status is suspended
30th June 2012 before your charter standard status will expire.
However the AFA would like to complete all annual health checks before these deadlines, so we ask you to complete it as soon as possible.
On completion and submission of the Health Check form you will receive an Umbro gift voucher. We believe that it is a fantastic achievement and honour to be a Charter Standard Club and remind you to continue to bear this in mind as your club continues to develop.
Clubs will have already been sent their AHC for the 2011-12 season via email. However you can also download it via Member Services and use the guidance (please see the attached document on the right hand side) to complete it.
