The AFA Intermediate Cup is predominantly for 2nd XI's of Saturday clubs, although at the discretion of the Cup Committee, 1st XI's from smaller clubs may be allowed to enter. The cup was inaugurated in 1908 as the Junior Cup, renamed in 1977.
