The AFA Junior Cup is predominantly for 3rd XI's of Saturday clubs, although at the discretion of the Cup Committee, higher XI's from smaller clubs may be allowed to enter. The cup was inaugurated in 1923 as the Minor Cup, renamed in 1977.
