Volunteers

A football club is about far more than the players on the pitch. The AFA is committed to supporting the volunteers in club football that make up the backbone of grassroots football.

A well-run club should feature the backroom staff of a Fixtures Secretary, fundraisers, a club welfare officer and a Chairperson to oversee the club’s constitution, as well as the frontline first aiders to act as physios and team coaches.

The FA recognises the value of volunteers and provides guides to clubs on how to recruit, retain and reward volunteers.

To find out more download a copy of the "Football Workforce" Handbook. Also take a look at the FA Guide on Recruiting Volunteers.
