When a club applies to the AFA for affiliation, the following questions are considered:
• Is it adult or youth?
• Is it male or female?
• Will it comprise one team or more?
• Where will its ground be?
• Is the club already parented to another County FA?
• Is it starting from scratch or breaking away from another existing club?
• On which day of the week will it be playing?
• How many club officials will there be?
An application for membership form is sent, which should be counter-signed by a proposing and a seconding club. An affiliation form is also enclosed.
When these forms are returned to the office, the membership form is brought to the AFA Council at its next meeting, for their approval.
If Council approves membership, the club may be affiliated. If the club is already parented to another County FA, it can have secondary affiliation to the AFA, but the first County FA will remain the parent county.
If you are a new club or competition, interested in affiliating to the AFA please get in touch with the AFA Office.
