Inclusion

FOOTBALL IS OPEN AND ACCESSIBLE FOR ALL

The Amateur FA is committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity amongst our workforce and throughout Amateur FA football.

Our aim is to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and with respect and that the Amateur FA is equally accessible to all. To that end the purpose of this policy is to provide equality and fairness for all in our employment and across Amateur FA football. The Amateur FA is committed to promoting inclusion and eliminating discrimination whether by reason of age; gender identity; marital status or civil partnership; pregnancy and maternity; disability; ethnicity; religion or belief; sex; sexual orientation.

All employees whether part-time, full-time or temporary will be treated fairly and with respect. Selection for employment, promotion, training or any other benefit will be on the basis of aptitude and ability.

All participants will be treated fairly and with respect and the Amateur FA will provide access and opportunities for all members of the community to take part in, and enjoy, its activities.

EQUALITY STANDARD FOR SPORT

The Amateur FA is responsible for setting standards and values to apply throughout the game at every level. Football belongs to, and should be enjoyed by, everyone equally. Our commitment is to confront and eliminate discrimination.

The Amateur FA has been awarded the Foundation Level of the Equality Standard for Sport.

The Equality Standard for Sport is a nationally recognised framework that assists CFAs with embedding equality at the highest level of its organisation, and communicating and sharing its commitment with its staff and stakeholders. It also provides a framework to review how a CFA is organised around equality in relation to its service delivery, workforce, policies, procedures and compliance against the Equality Act 2010.

Refugee's in Football

Amnesty International has created a guide on engaging refugee women and girls in football.

It can be downloaded HERE.

The FA Faith in Football document, is a practical guide that aims to inform you about the six major religions of the UK, providing examples of articles of faith and offering guidance to all to ensure nobody is excluded.

Inclusion advisory Group

The Inclusion Advisory Group (AIG) is key in promoting football for everyone and enables the Amateur FA to
increase awareness, understanding and knowledge of inclusion, equality and diversity, so that we will better meet the needs of all our communities who take part in football and ultimately our business.

Inclusion posters for your club

We have produced a series of posters for clubs to download and display, as a reminder that discrimination will not be tolerated in any form and if a report is made, an individual or club can be investigated by the CFA and charged with serious misconduct, which could result in a lengthy ban from football. There are also posters to display reminding all of the expectations that football holds as a game for all.

Football Leadership Diversity Code

The FA have launched a version of the Football Leadership Diversity Code tailored for the National League System, Women’s pyramid and grassroots football, aiming to tackle inequality and improve representation of diverse groups across senior leadership positions, wider team operations and coaching roles.

Recognising that off the pitch, club administration and support structures do not currently reflect the increasing diversity that we see on the pitch, the Code will increase accountability and transparency. Its aim is for clubs across the non-elite game to commit to being leaders in football diversity, ensuring they promote and deliver the highest standards of inclusion across their clubs.
