It is with great sadness that we report the sad passing of Pat Morrissey. Pat passed away yesterday at home after a long battle with leukamia, and more recently pancreatic cancer.
The Salesians , the football club and refereeing were very much part of his life. He was also a life vice president of the AFA as well as a regular contributor for the Argus magazine.
In his playing career he played in and won the AFA Senior Cup final.
In his refereeing career he refereed the AFA Senior Cup final. He was the first of only 3 people to have completed this feat in the history of the AFA.
A unique man, in unique football.
Pat’s ability to fight against all odds is a lesson to us all.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
