Become a Referee with Amateur FA

We’re on the lookout for the next generation of football referees who want to start their careers with Amateur FA, and are pleased to announce...
Upon successful completion of the five-day course and examination, all learners will receive a nationally recognised qualification and registered referee status.

The course is open to anyone over the age of 14 who is interested in officiating 11 or nine-a-side football. It will provide participants with an insight into the laws of the game and their practical application on the field of play, whilst teaching the skills needed to become a qualified referee.

Priced at just £130, the course will consist of six clear units – details of which can be found by clicking here

All candidates on the course must have a Safeguarding Children Certificate. Candidates aged 16+ will need to attend a Safeguarding Children Workshop on Wednesday 15 November at Ark Putney Academy from 18:30 to 21:30. Candidates aged 14 or 15 will need to complete an online exercise to receive their certificates and do not need to attend this workshop.

Candidates aged 16+ who intend to referee youth football matches will need to have a Criminal Records Check (CRC) in place. We will provide instructions on how to apply online for a CRC before the course begins.
