Referees undergo finess training

AFA Referees Invited to Training Event and BBQ

12.08.18 at 09:30am

The AFA & Lonsar Referees’ Society is inviting all AFA affiliated referees to its annual practical training session and barbecue at Actonians FC, W3 9AP, on Sunday 12 August.

Beginning at 9:30am, this free event offers the perfect opportunity for referees of all abilities to improve their skills and immerse themselves within a wider circle of supportive match officials.

Following a warm-up, practical sessions relating to the use of Sin Bins will take place – which is all the more relevant now the Southern Amateur League and Amateur Football Combination have announced they are piloting the innovation next season.

Game management exercises, instructions on direct free-kicks and counter attacks and support for assistant referees will then be delivered on the artificial surface, before the referees are invited for a BBQ at the main clubhouse from 1:15pm.

The BBQ – and training session – is being offered to AFA affiliated referees FREE of charge, thanks to part-sponsorship from the RA-FA Development Fund.

The event promises to be fun, insightful and in-line with The FA’s current thinking, using topics they have developed for the FA CORE elite groups of referees. This is a great opportunity to blow away the cobwebs and get into gear for the new season – so don’t miss out!

For catering purposes, if you would like to stay for the BBQ, please confirm to afalonsar@gmail.com
