AFA Youth Cup Finals 2018/19

At the weekend we held our 2018/19 AFA Youth Cup Finals which was hosted at Norsemen FC.

Firstly, we would like to thank Norsemen for allowing us to use their venue for this weekend, which I’m sure all the teams and match officials will appreciate also.

The weekend saw 24 teams, across two days, compete to be the best in their age group within the AFA. Congratulations to all the Winners throughout the weekend; well deserved. A message that is important to share from this weekend, in which Raymond Holmes (AFA Life Vice President) stated in one of the Cup Presentations, is that as well as the Winners, there are runners up and all performances should be commended. The weekend was a great showcase of the young talent there is within the County. Speaking of performances, the match officials on both days need to recognised and praised for their work also. Without these, the games would be impossible. It is great to see so many Young Referees making their way through the Refereeing path and wish them the best of luck in the future.

The weekend’s games were filmed by Film My Match in which we are pleased to have partnered with this year. We hope that by filming the games, everyone involved can look back on the weekend and remember the great occasion. At the AFA we want to create more memories through football and believe this has been a stepping stone to do this.
