We are supporting NHS Test and Trace in asking everyone to continue do what they can to stop the spread of COVID-19 as restrictions are eased

This week saw another step in the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown, with shops, gyms, pubs and restaurants reopening. This follows the return of organised sports including football, which can take place in line with the guidance from The FA.

However, this does not mean that COVID-19 has gone away. It’s vital that we all do everything we can to keep transmission rates low, so that we can move through the Government’s roadmap without delay and have the summer we’re hoping for.

So, if you are looking forward to your team playing in big summer tournaments or being able to watch the Euros together with friends in the pub, you need to play your part.

Get Tested and Keep Your Team Safe.

In addition to following all the relevant guidance, both at football and away from it, it’s important to get tested regularly. One in three people with COVID-19 don’t show any symptoms, meaning they could be spreading it to others without knowing it.

Even after having the vaccine, people can still carry and spread the virus, meaning that they could be putting others around them at risk of serious disease or even death.

That’s why everyone in England can now get a COVID-19 test, even if they don’t currently have symptoms. This is to help ensure that anyone with the virus knows they have it and can take the necessary steps so that they don’t pass it on to anybody else.

- You can do a rapid test at home or at a local rapid test site

We encourage everyone involved in football to take the opportunity get tested regularly, particularly before training or games. It’s free, quick and simple and could help us have the summer we are all looking forward to, free from any more restrictions.
