Statement from the Amateur FA Cup Committee
"Following the Government's announcement last week regarding the changes to lockdown arrangements, in particular to the earliest restart of outdoor sport, the Amateur FA Cup Competitions Committee held a meeting to discuss a possible restart of the Amateur FA Cups for the 2020/21 season. The Cup Committee comprises of officials from the Amateur Football Combination, the Southern Amateur League, the Arthurian League and Arthur Dunn cup and referees.
The committee has regrettably decided to cancel all cup competitions.
This was in part due to the consideration that due to time constraints coupled with the lack of playing facilities available going into May and June would prevent the Amateur FA from organising cup competitions to the standard expected.
The committee will work with affiliated competitions to support the provision of meaningful football matches when games are permitted to continue."
