Amateur FA Youth Advisory Group - Members Wanted

We're looking for new members to join our Youth Advisory Group.

The Amateur FA is looking for young adults to join their Youth Advisory Group (YAG).

The Youth Advisory Group is a collective of 16- to 24-year-olds, passionate about shaping, developing, and making a difference for young people participating within grassroots, adult amateur football, by making the voices of those they represent heard.

Prospective members should be passionate about building for the future and evolving our game to ensure it is a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive place for all. The aims of the Youth Advisory Group are drawn from the Amateur FA’s strategy, including looking at the transition into open-age football and ensuring if more can be done to safeguard young people in the adult game.

The YAG is key in promoting football for everyone and enables the Amateur FA to increase awareness, understanding and knowledge of young adults, so that we better meet the needs of all our communities who take part in football and ultimately our business.

Being a part of the Youth Advisory Group gives you the opportunity to build your CV through various opportunities, which will help increase your employability. You will also get a hands-on experience in the football industry, whilst being given the opportunity to expand your network with County FA staff and the wider FA community.

The ideal candidate will be committed to making a difference in the game and have some knowledge and experience in grassroots football, preferably within Amateur FA clubs or competitions. Being able to work as a member of the team and willing to contribute views and ideas, alongside good communication skills and the ability to manage and administrate your own activities are also valued attributes.

Becoming a member of the Amateur FA Youth Advisory Group is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in leadership and football. The role is voluntary and successful candidates will be expected to commit to attending at least six Youth Advisory Group meetings throughout the year, in addition to undertaking individual assignments allocated to them by the Group.
